I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor under the supervision of Maryanne Duan (LMFT Lic. 94176). I value being of service to others – a passion that stems from my commitment to empowering motivated individuals to develop healthy coping skills, express their needs, and resolve issues to achieve happiness and self-actualization. As an immigrant, I struggled with my mental health until I met a therapist who changed my life by taking me through a healing journey. Upon this foundation, I decided to pursue counseling and become a therapist. As a woman of color, I hope to elevate the perception of mental health and promote early intervention for people in my community and others.
In my commitment to becoming a licensed counselor, I have a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Master’s Degree in counseling. I use an integrated therapeutic approach incorporating existential, cognitive-behavioral, and emotion-focused theories and have training in mood-related disorders, relationship issues, family dysfunction, multicultural issues, and trauma. By combining my education and experience, I have acquired the knowledge to improve my clients’ outcomes and gained valuable skills to succeed, including a proven ability to connect easily with people. It gives me great satisfaction to see others in a better place emotionally, mentally, and physically.
