Hello! My name is Katherine (Kat) Rogers, and I am a dedicated student trainee under the supervision of Maryanne Duan, LMFT (license #94176), and have completed the academic portion of my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a meditation teacher with over 11 years of experience and was a Zen Buddhist nun in the Plum Village tradition, founded by the late ZM Thích Nhất Hạnh. My undergraduate degree is a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Acting from NYU and I spent 3 post-graduate years teaching mindfulness, performance anxiety, and creativity workshops in Manhattan.
My approach to couples therapy blends my current training in the Gottman Method with Emotion-Focused therapy, two research-based approaches. I am passionate about helping you achieve greater well-being and empowering you to take an active role in your therapy. We will work collaboratively to develop effective coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety, grief, depression, and relationship issues. I also can help you manage obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) with a combination of Exposure and Response Prevention therapy and I-CBT.
If you’re looking for a therapist who brings a unique combination of mindfulness, compassion, and evidence-based practice to their work, I am here to help.
