Courtney Glicken is a Professional Clinical Counselor Trainee, and is currently training under the supervision of Maryanne Duan, LMFT (license #94176). She is attending Grand Canyon University, and is set to graduate in October 2020 with her Master of Science in Professional Counseling with an Emphasis in Childhood and Adolescent Disorders. Once she graduates, she plans on getting certified in Play Therapy, as well as Trauma Counseling, and wants to open her own private practice. She enjoys working with children and adolescents and believes that early intervention is key to helping them be successful down the road. People experience setbacks in life, but that should not stop them from being able to live a life that is whole and fulfilling. During counseling sessions, Courtney may use collaborative approaches to help individuals gain the tools necessary to help themselves, but tends to lean towards the Cognitive Behavioral Approach with the general population and utilizes Play Therapy with children and adolescents. Her experience ranges from children who have been diagnosed with mild ADHD, depression, and anxiety, to children who have been diagnosed with severe oppositional defiant disorder and conduct disorder.
